EL VIENTO DEMAKE OPENING for SMS
Hi hi,
I used to play renovation games back in the 90's and I was wondering how would they look like on a Master System. So here is a demake of El Viento's opening. You can test it on emulator or real hardware with an everdrive cartridge. Code, sound engine, art & music demake by myself ( and also the fanart on the side :) ).
First test on the level 1 shows it would be very difficult to adapt the sprites ( they are quite large ) and a super deformed solution could be done but would need a complete revamp of the graphics, quite a lot of work to do ^^;
On the bright side, a GameGear port could be more doable since the screen is far smaller and sprites proportions tend to be better ( confirmed with a Valis 3 demo test I made earlier ).
Anyways, you can follow me here or on my social accounts for other stuff like this ( and also original ones ). Stay tuned!

Ohhh so beautiful. I am very moved to se that. ''El Viento'' is my favorite game. I remember i discovered and was a success here at home in 2005. I have played always in the weekends until beat the game. And i remember i search on Google about a possible ''El Viento 2'' and i founded ''Annet Again'', so beautiful game too. When i got my brasilian Master System 3 Collection in the 2005 Christmans i have dreamed with a Master System version of ''El Viento''. I hope you get make the Master System version. I wonder if possible to make a SMS version from the games ''Valis'', ''Alisia Dragoon'', ''Devil Hunter Yohko'' and ''Dahna''. Master System deserves more female protagonist Action-Platformer games gradually <3
Thank you!
Most of these games can't be ported without crushing down a lot their assets. Valis is probably the easiest one ( I've started something on GameGear : https://x.com/lunokaretro/status/2019468300250386567 ). Also Alisia got a weapon system that needs tons of sprites to be done.
I understand. I'm commenting as a complete layman when it comes to games. I know how to play, but I've never been able to make a game, even though I really want to. I remember there were games like ''Kenseiden'', ''Lord Of The Sword'', ''X-Men Mojo World'' and ''Danan The Jungle Fighter'' where the sprites were a bit larger and it didn't compromise the speed of the gameplay. Maybe because they were 1 to 2 megas in the SMS games. Maybe in the SMS ''El Viento'', can be possible if reduce graphics and color layers. Or make Annet with the similar size of the ''Ninja Gaiden'' SMS version. I don't know if i am right, as i said above i am layman about games, but as a A loyal Master System player, specially about Action-Platformer games, i always have repaired it.
Ah, i have to say: What a beautiful work in ''Valis III'' for Game Gear. I am really moved. Thank you for remember these classic heroine games <3 I want to play these versions when them get ready!
To tell you the truth, I'm planning to work on my on licences, but making clones from those games, and also switching to megadrive as lead platform, even if I think I'll continue to make some stuff on 8-bit machines since it's recreative to me.
Seriously, it's a mind-blowing backport of the impressive looking opening of El. Viento!
Thank you! Took me quite some time to adapt ^^;
Impressive, looks so good!
Thank you!
This looks incredible and I love the music! Very excited about this possibly being a Game Gear game 😏
Thanks a lot! I could at least try to adapt this intro for the GameGear, after that, well, ... ;)
